Middle School Students Place in TEAMS Academic Competition
A team of Dorseyville Middle School students placed in the 2014 Pennsylvania TEAMS (Tests of Engineering Aptitude, Mathematics and Science) competition. The team of 2013-2014 eighth graders Albert Liu, Shania Khatri, and Andreas Paljug and seventh graders Arnav Gupta, Zachary Lakkis, Annika Urban, and Ziya Xu placed first in Pennsylvania. The team has now qualified for the national competition which will be held in conjunction with the National Technology Student Association (TSA) Leadership Conference which will be held June 27-July 1 in National Harbor, Maryland.
The national-qualifying TEAMS competition was held February 19 at Pine-Richland High School. The competition is a TSA-sponsored event and consists of a test with both multiple choice and essay questions. Students must apply math and science knowledge in practical, creative ways to solve real-world engineering challenges.
