After-school care is dismissal to 6:00pm at O’Hara, Kerr & Hartwood Elementary School buildings.

Breakfast and Lunch Programs
Breakfast and lunch programs are provided at all six Fox Chapel Area School District buildings. The meals provide students with nutritious and tasty breakfast and lunch meals that meet the Healthy, Hunger-Free Kids Act of 2010.
Free and reduced-meals options are available for families that meet income guidelines and submit a yearly Free and Reduced School Meal Application. A new application is available in mid-July each year and can be submitted anytime during the school year. A new application MUST BE completed each school year.
Without a new application, a student is in danger of losing their free and reduced price school meals. A detailed packet with an FAQ sheet, instructions for applying and a paper application is posted in the download section.

What is the PNC-YMCA School-Age Program? In order to meet the needs of working parents or families with busy schedules, Fox Chapel Area School District in partnership with the YMCA offers Before & After School Programs in O’Hara to include Fairview; Kerr; Afterschool only at Hartwood Elementary School. Students can increase self-esteem build character, increase leadership skills, appreciate diversity, improve personal and family relationships, participate in games and other activities or choose to study. Who is eligible to participate? Students enrolled at any of the district’s four elementary schools can participate in the YMCA Before and After School Program. Each school has a designated area for the program, which is facilitated by YMCA School-Age Staff.
Do students need to attend the YMCA Before and After School Programs on a regular basis?
Students may attend part time (one to three days weekly), or full time (four to five days weekly).

Students not enrolled in the YMCA Morning Program will not be permitted on school grounds or to enter the building unsupervised prior to the building opening. This is for their safety.
Is breakfast served during the Before School Program?
Breakfast is available through the school breakfast program to all students. From 8:30 a.m. - 9 a.m. at O’Hara, Fairview and Kerr.
The cost of breakfast $1.25 for students paying full price, $0.40 for students paying reduce price, and no charge for free students.
What is the Breakfast Program?
Fox Chapel Area School District’s Food Service Department offers a Breakfast Program that provides students with a nutritious breakfast that meets recommended dietary guidelines. The program, which is supervised by the Food Service Department, is available in all district cafeterias.
Who is eligible to participate?
All elementary and secondary students in the district are eligible to participate in the Breakfast Program.
Do students need to participate in the Breakfast Program regularly?
No. Students can eat breakfast on a regular or occasional basis.
What is the cost?
The cost for breakfast is $1.25 a day. However, students who qualify for free lunches or lunches at a Reduced price under the National School Lunch Program also are entitled to receive breakfast for free or at a reduced price in the Breakfast Program. Monies are deducted from the student’s Nutrikids account.
