Reading Recovery teacher training for school districts in the tri-state area is provided at the Fox Chapel Area/Duquesne University Reading Recovery® Training Site. Teachers enroll in six graduate credits at Duquesne University and, with the agreement of their district, teach four Reading Recovery® children daily during their training year. Initial training includes a full week in mid-August devoted to orientation and assessment followed by weekly evening classes that continue through the following May. In addition, the teacher and the district need to make a commitment to continue Reading Recovery® instruction beyond the training year. Information about Reading Recovery® and the cost of training, as well as application forms which are due May 15.
