DMS 8th Grade Parent Scheduling Night – For Parents of Rising HS Students

Parents of 8th Grade Students,

Fox Chapel Area High School is excited to announce our upcoming 8th Grade Parent Scheduling Night to be held on Wednesday, March 7, starting at 6:30 p.m. in the Dorseyville Middle School auditorium. Please see the agenda below. This event is provided to help 8th grade parents and their students better understand the scheduling process at the high school in anticipation of the freshmen year. Teachers from every academic department at the high school will be present to help explain the expectations and curriculum of the courses available, so that the students and parents can be better informed about the courses they select to begin their high school career. This event is only to discuss the scheduling process and course options. Topics such as clubs, activities, rules, policies, etc. will be discussed in our student and parent sessions in August. Eighth grade students are welcome to attend. However, the entire FCAHS guidance department will be presenting this same information to the 8th grade students at an assembly during Home Base on Friday, March 2.

Here is the agenda for the evening:

6:30-7 p.m. – FCAHS teachers from every high school department will be available in the DMS auditorium lobby to answer questions and share scheduling options.

7-7:45 p.m. – Mr. Ben O'Connor, FCAHS Guidance Counselor, will present the high school scheduling process including graduation requirements and course selections in the DMS Auditorium.

7:45-8:30 p.m. – FCAHS teachers will continue to be available in the auditorium lobby for parent and student questions.

We hope you will join us for this event at Dorseyville Middle School on Wednesday, March 7, at 6:30 p.m.!

Thank you,

The FCAHS Administrative Team
