Students Place in Regional FBLA Competition/Qualify for States

Several Fox Chapel Area High School students recently competed in the Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) Regional Leadership Conference and 61 placed and qualified for the state competition.

Fox Chapel Area first place regional winners included: seniors Logan Foster, Jacob Kronman, Benjamin Santilli, Anja Schempf, and Matthew Shaw; juniors Margeaux Essey and Juliette Naugle; sophomores Karissa Becer, Cooper Collins, Braddock Lalor, Toby Lazear, Sarthak Navjivan, Ryan Santilli, Alexa Selwood, and Trisha Shah; and freshmen Vaishavi Agrawal, Matthew Good, Arnav Gupta, Alana Herceg, Michael Kilmer, and Gina Wang. Second place regional winners were: senior Brady Maximovich; juniors Rohan Chalasani, Jared Cohen, Tim Marsh, Grace Mueller, Hannah Mueller, Daniel Paviglianiti, and Martin Taxay; sophomores Christopher Bonavita, Fallon Curry, Margaret Edgecombe, Anna Hirsch, Hannah Morton, Jordan Taxay, and Ryan Weinberger; and freshmen Jayanth Kashyap, Jared Nord, and Robert Shymansky. Third place regional winners were: seniors Charles Fletcher, Manasa Thada, Teddy Wight, and Megan Zonker; juniors Macy McClaran and Ryan Zakin; and sophomores Riley Michael, Brianna Smith, Tanvi Yende, and Georgina Zimmerman. Fourth place regional winners were: senior Mariana de la Torre; junior Sophia Lee; sophomores Theodore Faucher, Scott Hastings, and Sarah Sheerer; and freshman Sanjana Harish. Fifth place regional winners were: junior Tanvi Meringenti and sophomores Elena Liberto, Madelyn Reuss, Jeffrey Savin, Ashley Trusiak, and Adam Woo. All of these students have qualified to participate at the state-level Future Business Leaders of America Conference that will be held in Hershey, Pennsylvania, April 10-13, 2016.

The Future Business Leaders of America Regional Leadership Competition was held December 15, 2015, in Hopewell Township. Approximately 700 students from schools from across western Pennsylvania participated in the regional competition.
