Students Chosen for Honors Orchestra

Sixteen Fox Chapel Area High School students were recently selected to participate in the 2016 Pennsylvania Music Educators Association (PMEA) District One Honors String Orchestra. The students chosen are: senior Moira McCormick (cello); juniors Sarah Baldwin (viola), Katherine Chomko (violin), Alyssa DiPaolo (violin), Andreas Paljug (bass), and Tao Sheng (viola); sophomores Zachary Lakkis (violin), Ji-Yool Moon (cello), and Sarena Seeger (cello); and freshmen Oskar Ernharth (bass), Evan Gu (viola), Noah Hertzman (cello), Cuna Kim (violin), Zeynep Ozkaya (viola), Felix Veser (viola), and Aaron Wu (violin). Additionally, Cuna was named concertmaster and Zachary was assistant concertmaster.

Approximately 250 students from across the greater Pittsburgh area auditioned for the PMEA District One Honors String Orchestra and only 96 were chosen to participate. The students rehearsed November 19 and 20 with the concert being held November 20 at Bethel Park High School.
