Students Score High on Math Exam/Qualify to Take National Exam
Four Fox Chapel Area High School students recently qualified to take the American Invitational Mathematics Examination (AIME). The students are juniors Albert Liu and Ruopeng Wang and freshmen J. Oliver Choo and Rajeev Godse. They were among the top scorers in the nation on the American Mathematics Competition (AMC) 12 exam which was taken by students in February.
The AMC is America’s longest running and most prestigious math contest. Every year more than 350,000 students from all 50 states participate in this competition which is designed to strengthen the mathematical capabilities of our nation’s youth in mathematics. Students who performed exceptionally well on the AMC are invited to participate in the AIME.
