High School Students Compete at State TSA Conference

Several Fox Chapel Area High School students recently won awards at the Pennsylvania Technology Student Association (TSA) State Leadership Conference which was held April 19-22, 2017, at the Seven Springs Conference Center. The Fox Chapel Area second place winners were seniors Jonathan Monroe and Jeremy Rodrigues and the third place winners were seniors Erik Bothe, Adam Cook, and Austin Fisher; juniors Anita Bargaje and Karissa Becer; and sophomore Nishika Mohnot. All eight of these students have advance to the national competition which will be held in Orlando, Florida, June 21- 25. Additional Fox Chapel Area finalists earning fifth-ninth places were: seniors Erik Bothe, Adam Cook, Donovan Gorgas, and Jeremy Rodrigues; juniors Anita Bargaje, Nikita Bargaje, Nathan VanDemark, and Jorgen Wu; sophomore Nishika Mohnot; and freshman Aaron Wu.

Founded in 1978, TSA is the only student organization devoted exclusively to the needs of students interested in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics). The TSA supports STEM-education goals through high school and middle school competitions, as well as leadership and teamwork activities for students.
