Students Place in Forensic Tournaments

Four Fox Chapel Area High School students recently placed in forensic tournaments.

•Fox Chapel Area High School senior Rishi Mirchandani was a quarterfinalist (top 24) in Impromptu Speaking at the Patriot Games Classic Forensic Tournament. The tournament was held December 5 & 6, 2014, at George Mason University in Fairfax, Virginia. More than 500 students representing 101 high schools from across the Eastern United States participated in the tournament.

•Three Fox Chapel Area High School students were named winners in the Upper St. Clair Novice Forensic Tournament. Sophomores Jeremy Rodrigues won first place and Ellen Pil won second place in Impromptu Speaking. Additionally, sophomore Mihir Garimella won fifth place in Lincoln-Douglas Debate.

The Upper St. Clair Novice Forensic Tournament was held November 15 at Fort Couch Middle School. Approximately 300 first- and second-year students from 20 Western Pennsylvania high schools competed in the event.
