Students Place in Regional FBLA Competition/Qualify for States
Several Fox Chapel Area High School students recently competed in the Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) Regional Leadership Conference and qualified for the state competition.
First place regional winners included: seniors Ryan Breen, Frances Dean, Justin Dembowski, Eliza Horvat, Brad Jamiolkowski, Will Kolbrener, Jack Lundy, Nicole Mauder, Paige Michael, Elianna Paljug, Peter Rozin, Deepika Sarma, Kanika Sarma, Christopher Selwood, Andrew Wissinger, Gordon Wissinger, and Colin Yost; juniors Stephen Polcyn and Anja Schempf; sophomores Rohan Chalasani, Yelim Lee, and Jeremy Rodrigues; and freshmen Karissa Becer and Margaret Edgecombe. Second place regional winners were: seniors Annalise Becer, Sam Burke, Gerry Chen, Matthew Cynkar, Tynan Englert, Rama Godse, Christopher Good, Matthew Herrmann, John Kilmer, Stephen Pollock, Zane Rosen, and Sarah Schachner; junior Jessica Hertzberg; sophomores Jared Cohen, Megan Eisengart, Alexander Himler, Vincent Lundy, Tanvi Meringenti, Martin Taxay, Taylor Thiele, and Nathan Wecht; and freshmen Mia Jamiolkowski, Rohit Nandakumar, and Sai Yarlagadda. Third place regional winners were: seniors Elissa Bergren and Rachel Szabo; juniors Michael Bonavita, Julia Lynch, and Edward Wight; sophomores Mikayla D'Cunha and Alexis Hurwitz; and freshmen Andreas Paljug, Jeffrey Savin, Jorgen Wu, and Georgina Zimmerman. Fourth place regional winners were: juniors Charles Fletcher, Logan Foster, and Jane Millard; sophomores Kevin Kilmer and Benjamin Rosen; and freshmen Benjamin Kronman and Abigail Pogue. Fifth place regional winners were: seniors Anna Huwar and Elizabeth Savin; sophomores Alec Eckman and Kristen Rabbitt; and freshmen Claudia Guerrieri and Jacob Wecht. Sixth place regional winners were: junior David Humphrey; sophomores Sophia Lee and Alan McIvor; and freshmen Afaf Nabeeha and Tanvi Yende. All of these students have qualified to participate at the state-level Future Business Leaders of America Conference that will be held in Hershey, Pennsylvania, April 13-15, 2015.
The Future Business Leaders of America Regional Leadership Competition was held December 16, 2014, in Hopewell Township. Approximately 800 students from schools from across western Pennsylvania participated in the regional competition.
