Dismissal Procedure Changes @ Kerr

Our Kerr Elementary Office has just sent home forms for parents to complete if their child is either a car rider or walker. These forms need to be completed and turned into the office by April 5th. Beginning on April 9th, parents will be required to sign their child out at the back MPR door. We will no longer be permitting children to leave without a parent of approved designee to meet the child. A sign will be posted on the outside of the door marking it as the area for car rider pick up. Each parent/guardian will receive a set of numbers that they will use for parent pick up that will match their child’s number. Parents will receive this number on the very first day that they pick their child up. Please read the letter and forms that arrived home for additional details.

One other change that will begin on April 9th, is that we will be holding to a timeline that will transition students to their busses for dismissal more quickly. As we move through this process, busses may arrive at their assigned bus stops a few minutes earlier than usual. If you are used to being at the bus stop at a certain time, please arrive earlier to meet your child if their bus should arrive earlier than usual.

The changes that we have put in place for car rider/walkers, and bus dismissal, is specifically designed to enhance safety measures for our students. The Kerr Bus Committee has spent a lot of time and effort, creating procedures with child safety in mind, and ensuring that we are supervising students more efficiently as a school community.
