O'Hara Elementary Hosts Read Across America Event

The O’Hara Elementary School Library is sponsoring a special event in honor of Read Across America Day and Dr. Seuss’ birthday. The event will be held Friday, February 26, 2016, from 5-8 p.m. at the Barnes & Noble bookstore in the Waterworks shopping plaza. Fun activities will include face painting, bingo, trivia contests, crafts, and a raffle for Barnes & Noble gift cards. The guest reader will be O’Hara Elementary School Principal Michael Rowe, Ed.D., at 7 p.m. O’Hara Elementary School teachers and fifth grade students are also volunteering their time to help with the evening’s festivities.

Admission to the event is free and all O’Hara Elementary School students and their families are invited to attend. A portion of the purchases made at the store that evening will benefit the O’Hara Elementary School library when a special voucher is presented at the checkout. Vouchers will be sent home with the students and are also available at the school, as well as at the store the evening of the event.
